Day 203: SICK in Beijing – Uggggh

Wulp, today was a bust. We were supposed to leave for the Great Wall at 7 am — but neither Teddy nor I could get out of bed we were so sick. The stomach drama and terrible chills/fever lasted all night into the morning.

The kids and Lobsy were totally fine, thank god. We just must have gotten a bug somehow that they didn’t?

We made arrangements with Nancy to postpone the Wall til tomorrow. Lobsy took the kids to breakfast, then met Nancy for a visit to the Temple of Heaven park. Thank god for Lobsy — not sure what we would have done otherwise — probably just put the kids in front of the iPad for 12 straight hours?

They had a great morning. Met a guy named Howard for a Kung Fu lesson, then got invited by some locals to play tacky sack (they play with a badminton cock) and Chinese yo-yo. It was so hot they had to return to the hotel for lunch and quiet movie and game time the rest of the afternoon.

By evening Teddy was well enough to join them in the lobby for more games and dumplings they had delivered from down the street.

I was just in and out of sleep all day. 

We all went to bed by 8 pm — on the mend, but still fragile.
