Day 159: Chillest Day Yet? Jo and Dave’s Last Day Here in Corsica
Happy Birthday, Lobsy!! It’s my mom’s birthday today. Tricia and Claire are hosting a party for her and a bunch of her friends at Tricia and Brendan’s place. We gave her a WhatsApp video call and caught her at home at the breakfast table with her bff Joyce.
Back here in Corsica…
Dave was up super early for a bike ride to Bonifacio.
Joanna met Willa and James in the kitchen for breakfast before Margaret and I were there. She recounted a conversation with James in which he was imitating and making fun of us at restaurants saying, “Hey friend… (we call each other “Fren” — long story)… “Hey Friend, that was a really good order you made.”
So funny.
Joanna headed out around 10 to pick him up and explore that town. We’re planning to check it out tomorrow.
We had another gloriously slow morning, did a couple hours of school, and then did very little for the rest of the day. A perfect day.
Joanna and Dave came back in the early afternoon with groceries for dinner.
We enforced kid “quiet time” and grownups-only pool time to let us relax. They played games and colored and then we all hit the pool for yet another swim.
We re-racked our standard evening here in Corsica: kid showers, grownup snacks and aperitifs during kid dinner, feeding the horses, story time (Phantom Tollbooth), kid bedtime while grownup dinner is prepped. Why change it up?
The kids said their goodbyes to Buff and Dave before bed.

Tonight Joanna made steak frite and green beans as her final meal here in Corsica — really good!
We had our mini Haagen Dasz ice cream bars then went to bed. Good livin!
