Updated: Our Itinerary Through the Rest of the Year

We’ve decided to change our very last destination of our trip. Instead of skiing in Japan over the New Year, we’ll have a “soft landing” in Kauai from Dec 28th through Jan 4th.

It was a tough decision but this felt like a lower risk and more relaxing way to end the trip. Margaret has been to Hawaii multiple times and has always raved about it. I’ve never been and I’m so excited to check it out.

We also now know we’ll be home — in DC actually, to get our car, see family, etc. — on Jan 5th, 2020. We’ve always known this would be a year, but somehow it feels strange to know the date when this all comes to an end.

Below is the plan moving forward. For the full start-to-finish itinerary with links to daily posts for each country, check out the Destinations Page.

You didn’t mention the Dead Sea, but I’m sure you’ll hit it on your way from Amman to Petra. Be sure to stop at Mt Nebo (where Moses spotted the Promised Land) and you can get a day pass at a spa on the Dead Sea to do your swim and cover in the mud – Kempinski Zara Spa is a good one.
